Marina Rosenfeld’s Contribution
I would like to present the concept of Neighborhood-School, developed by City School Apprentice Association, in Brazil. The concept proposes integration between schools, families, institutions and local representatives. The idea is to create and articulate the educational opportunities, establishing trust relationships and mutual support. It is an effort to transform the territory into a learning community where everyone can participate, where they can learn and teach.
In this way, education is not a task solely for the school, but is the combined responsability of everyone and is not limited to the infancy and youth phases. It is part of every stage of the subject’s life.
The idea is present a case of a public school in Brazil that was going to close and after the Neighborhood-School process became a true example of integral education.
